Self-Discovery Scavenger Hunt
The king of the Olympian Gods, the almighty Zeus, travels to the island of Crete! The reason; But ... because all the Gods were just… lost! A strong south wind blew on the Mountain Olympus and since then all the thrones have been left empty. Where is the goddess Athena now? Where has Hephaestus drilled? In which Cretan waters is Poseidon swimming?
Take part in a hidden treasure hunt in the city of Heraklion! With the help of Zeus, let's solve puzzles, explore monuments and discover the Olympian Gods! Twelve gods are waiting for you hidden in twelve places in the city of Heraklion! Are you ready to discover them?
- Starting/ Ending Point: Eleftherias Square, 712 01 Heraklion. Please see the map here. Please spot the pink umbrella and come meet us!
- This self-discovery scavenger hunt takes place under the guidance of our own interpreters, who will be available for further directions and hints at the starting point.
- Participants will be divided into six (6) teams: 4 teams of 8 people each and 2 teams of 7 people each. Please inform them to choose one of their team to be their leader.
- Each team leader should have a smartphone or a tablet with him/her in order to access the directions and the riddles online. All necessary information will be available online through Exploration Children's Museum's official website. Access to the information will be given to the teams the same day right before the hunt begins.
- You don't have to download any app. You need to have an internet connection (your own or of the municipality of Heraklion)
- Please wear casual clothes and shoes, because there is lots of walking involved. We also recommend sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, water and why not snacks too.
- Ιn case of rain, the activity will take place as usual, so please keep an eye to the weather forecast and if needed, bring your umbrellas too. In case of extreme weather, the activity will be postponed and you will be informed at least 3 hours ahead.
- The duration of the activity is approximately two (2) hours, including a twenty (20) minute break. Each team can have their own break at any time they want, but all teams should finish the hunt in two (2) hours.
- Attention: photos or videos of any of the online material is prohibited as they are ECM's copyright, according to the Law 2121/1993.
